Blood Orange Sorbetto Cocktails remind me of early mornings on the Cape May Point just before sunrise. I hear my grandfather’s voice telling me to slow down, to absorb everything the seashore has to offer. I can vividly see the iridescent pearly pink and white seashells we gathered. I can hear waves crashing against the bunker as he shushed me to be still and listen, to slow my frantic childhood pace, darting from this treasure to that. I hear seagulls calling in the distance as they dive bomb into the ocean. If we’re in just the right place I can ever so faintly hear the sound of the ferry pulling into shore. My grandfather has been gone over a decade but those memories are still so vividly etched in my memory. Observe. Listen. Remember.

I came across Ciao Bella’s Sorbetto during a one day sale at Whole Foods. It was love at first sight and forever love at first bite. I came home, inspired to create a sweet summer cocktail with it. It wasn’t difficult. This sorbetto makes it almost too easy. A Blood Orange Sorbetto Cocktail with a splash of vodka and a fresh raspberry garnish (also on sale) was a beautiful ending to my day. You should be able to swap out the vodka for club soda for an alternative Blood Orange Sorbetto mocktail.
