Travel back in time and take your family to the Roaring 20s at Jazz Age on the Delaware at the stunning Glen Foerd Mansion estate.
We had the opportunity to attend a media preview for the Glen Foerd Jazz Age on the Delaware event. As this is a family friendly event, our kids were invited too, and when they heard dancing they were all in.
One question I get is, “Is it worth the drive from Chester County?” Yes! If we weren’t out of town next weekend we would be there.
Schedule the date (August 1st), book your tickets, put on your best Roaring 20s outfit, and dance the day away.
Bring a date or bring your family because there’s plenty to do at Jazz Age on the Delaware. From dancing to learning the Charleston, from kids’ crafts to lawn games, and from picnics to mansion tours, plan to make it an all day event.
You can pack a picnic, order a picnic ahead of time, or get VIP tickets where food and libations will be included. We had a sampling of the foods that will be offered as part of the VIP package and they were amazing. There will also be a special sitting area for VIP, which is always nice.
If you are an ‘allergy family’ ask about the food ahead of time to verify whether you need to be prepared with other options or not. I can say the catering was amazing and all the bites we had were delicious but several of us didn’t taste a lot due to tree nut allergies.
I definitely recommend taking the mansion tour. Glen Foerd Mansion is the last Gilded Age mansion in the Philadelphia area and my husband and sons took the tour while I watched my daughter dance her heart out. I must say I was a little jealous of them. They learned so many things about the mansion and the people who lived there. It sounds like it was a great history lesson yet wasn’t so long that it lost their attention.
And pie! We can’t forget the pie. This one is so my thing, but I won’t be there so you need to make your best and enter the contest!
