Good food, good music, and travel. They all go together, right? Tell me you don’t love the thought of cruising down a country highway, music blasting as you head toward that next greatest meal. Not going to lie, that’s a picture of sheer bliss for our family.

Okay, so we have a few who aren’t the most fond of music blasting. But food? You got it. Even better is when we can pair good food and a nice drive with a concert the whole family can enjoy.
Pack your bags and head to Portsmouth, NH for a quick day trip or summer vacation. There’s still some summer left to add it to your itinerary. You’ll find plenty of restaurant options, and if you’re lucky, you’ll be in town for one of the Prescott Park Arts Festival summer concert series. Discover someone new or have the opportunity to see a well-known name.
We headed to the coast to See Bela Fleck and Christ Thile play the other weekend and we weren’t disappointed – in the concert or the food.

There is no end of restaurant options in Portsmouth, but if you’re in town for an event at the park, The Prop at Prescott Park goes beyond traditional concessions and offers up a versatile (fairly) quick service menu, sourcing local foods as much as possible. We highly recommend the Street Curry Fries. The onion rings don’t disappoint either, and we wouldn’t turn down a burger if you offered.

Vacationing in Portsmouth, NH is perfect because not only are there many things to see, do, and eat there, but you are, quite literally, just over the bridge from Maine, just over an hour from Boston, and 1.5 hours from the White Mountains – lakes, beach, cities, and mountains at your fingertips? What’s not to love?
