Why
Rita’s and Alex’s have teamed up for a special fundraiser to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand in the fight to save children’s lives everywhere. Most of us have known or closely followed the story of a child who has been hit with the horrible ‘C’ word, cancer, in some way or other. Those of us who haven’t been personally hit with the awful news that our child has been diagnosed with this awful disease can only imagine with no true grasp what it would be like to walk that horrific journey with our child. My dear friend Tricia (link to Lily’s Alex’s Lemonade Stand) is one of those Warrior moms along with her beautiful daughter Lily. I would love for you to read her story and see just one reason why Alex’s Lemonade Stand means so much to me.
How
Here’s how you can get involved. Buy a cup of water ice at Rita’s Water Ice between now and June 18th. While you are there, buy a paper lemon for $1 to add to Rita’s “Wall of Hope” or text-to-donate a one time $5 donation. That easy. We all can fight childhood cancer one cup of lemonade (or water ice) at a time.

Yay, a great contest for a great cause. We love Ritas, it’s one of the few places that will send me a detailed ingredient list at the beginning of the season so I know what we can have from there. They’re just awesome.
