Last week I headed to East Passyunk Avenue and Headhunter’s Hair Designs for a preview hair cut for City of Hope’s Hopecuts.
Once a year various hair salons and hair dressers, mainly on the east coast, donate a day of services to City of Hope’s Hopecuts fundraiser. City of Hope is a research institute that conducts research, treatment and education programs for diabetes, cancer, and HIV/AIDS. This year most Hopecuts events will be hosted September 15th or September 22nd. See below for participating salons.
We love East Passyunk Avenue and Headhunters Hair Design has been added to our “favorite’s list.” They offer hair cuts and a whole range of styling services for men, women and children. Thankfully children are welcome because last week I had to be THAT MOM. You know the one who drags her kids to the hair salon? Thankfully my kids were very well behaved and I was able to get my hair done in relative peace as was every one else in the building. My daughter loved it because Dana of Aversa PR was there and she indulged my daughter’s “fashion” suggestions. Yes, jewelry looks better modeled on a real live person, especially a 5 year old princess. Am I raising a future fashion blogger?

Nancy Melciore, the owner of Headhunters Hair Design, did my hair and she paid such great attention to the details. My hair turned out gorgeous and is so easy to care for because she did such a great job on it. I’ve had the same haircut in the past with less low maintenance results and let me tell you, I don’t have time for high maintenance hair. She took time to make sure it was done right and never once made me feel like I was being rushed in or out. From listening to the conversations around me it was clear that she has many “regulars” which is a great sign when it comes to trusting someone with your hair.
Headhunters Hair Design is tastefully decorated and along with hair cuts they offer a variety of services. They also offer spray tanning, Novalashes, and waxing. Call 215-334-4001 to set up an appointment.
September 15th, from 12 – 4, they will be joining other salons as part of Hopecuts. Nancy said even if you don’t need a hair cut come in for a blow out and be part of raising money for Hopecuts. All services will be discounted and all proceeds will go to Hopecuts. They will be open special hours for this event and will be offering refreshments and prizes. I’m hoping to see some great before/after photos on their Instagram page Sunday. Will you be one of them?

**My hair cut was comped in order for me to learn more about Headhunters Hair Design Services.
