Tuckerton Seaport ~ #education and #fun all in one

At this point it should be no secret that I love Tuckerton Seaport. If it is, check out the links at the bottom of this post. Well, Tuckerton Seaport is having yet another awesome festival – their 2013 Maritime Heritage Festival paired with the 14th Annual Antique and Classic Boat Show on September 7th – 8th, 11AM-5PM. I am very excited that they have offered me a family 4 pack of tickets to give away for September 7.  Even better, guess who is visiting to celebrate the day? Radio Disney will be there (9/7/13). This sounds like an awesome line up to me.

Fun, education, and a great family day out are all wrapped up in one package with this adventure. At Tuckerton Seaport you can explore so many different things and learn so much and this weekend will be no exception. After checking out all the boats make sure you climb the lighthouse and check out the replica of the Tucker’s Island Lighthouse and Baymen’s Museum.

Radio Disney will be there from 2PM-4PM on September 7th, heading up the Beach Ball Bonanza Dance Party. The first 100 guests to check in at their booth will receive fun Disney gear. Throughout the afternoon Radio Disney will be providing interactive music, games, and prizes, including an iPad mini. Don’t miss out on all that fun!

Enter our giveaway here or, if you don’t win, buy tickets when you get there. Tickets are $8 (adult), $6 (seniors), $5 (kids), free (members).

Educational Ideas

Want some educational fun and if you home school, some educational hours?

  • Explore the Baymen’s Museum for some history and maybe even a little science
  • Play a round of miniature golf
  • Visit the petting zoo
  • Check out the Boathouse and learn how they construct the sneak box and what makes it float
  • Learn how they make duck decoys and how they work
  • Learn all about the different boats that will be there
  • Dance Party

One great big fun day where the kids can learn without even cracking open a book. My personal favorite is the Boat House. Ah, the smell of sawdust.
