A friend shared her son’s thrift store find so I stole the idea. I thought it would be fun to set my almost 5 year old free in the store and see what she came up with. We chose to go to Goodwill since we were going to be near it for some other errands. I didn’t even get a chance to tell her what I wanted her to do – find something she thought was a good deal – before she started giving me photo ops of her deal hunting.
Ultimately she settled on a musical Angelina Ballerina Book for $2. Discovering the pages were all there, the music buttons all worked, and the book was in relatively good shape, it was declared a deal worth buying. Of course this meant her brothers needed in on the action and found books for themselves also. Really, who is going to say no to buying kids books? Especially when the total for 3 was under $6.

My son has been looking for a copy of Lord of the Rings so he beelines for the book area every time. We love books so much and the prices can’t be beat, especially when I still have one who isn’t as gentle or caring as she should be with them.
