My kids get tired of the same lunch every day but I need them to be able to make it themselves. Lunch definitely tends to turn into an “eat whatever you can find” rather than sticking to the lunch menu plan. My lunch goals for 2015 are to plan meals the kids can make and have everything ready for them to easily make lunch. Today several friends and I are sharing our best lunch recipes for 2014.

Here is my plan to make lunchtime a little more organized this year.

  • Print out the lunch menu and put it on the refrigerator for the kids – include instructions they need for heating the oven, etc.
  • Make lunch foods ahead of time and freeze – soups, chicken fries, and potato wedges all make great lunches.
  • Keep fresh fruits and veggies stocked and ready to eat – celery sticks, etc.
