My dilemma is really what to name these things. It isn’t like I have just 2 ingredients or one overpowers the other. I really loved today’s smoothie and it felt good to know I got several servings of fruit/veggies in our day with breakfast alone. Strawberry Pear Smoothies are a great way to start the day. Even though this is a slightly different combination than I would normally think of it worked. It totally worked.
Strawberry Pear Smoothies
- 1 banana
- 1 pear
- 12 baby carrots (approximately one serving)
- 1 orange
- 1 cup frozen strawberries (tomorrow includes a trip to Wegmans)
- 1/2 cup fat free milk
- 1/4 cup coconut milk
Blend it all together and enjoy!
The kids all liked it but R only drank a few sips. This means she likes it because if she doesn’t she will barely even let her tongue get a taste. Tomorrow we are going green again. I have a few stalks of kale left. The next day I may be brave and try using a red pepper. K loves peppers and is “dyyyyyyyyying to try a pepper smoothie”. Strange kid. Would it be pushing it to add broccoli to a smoothie? I think I am also going to try blanching some beets and making a “borscht smoothie”. Hmmmmmm……
