For a home school mama, “school’s out for summer” just might be one of the best phrases ever. On the flip side of moms who now need to figure out what to do with their kids all summer, home school mamas have a little less to do. No lesson planning, no teaching school material, scheduling is a little easier, and for me, there is a sense of freedom.
Just like other mamas, we have a schedule to keep and busy days. We wake up knowing the kids don’t need to get on the bus but eventually, life is going to catch up to us and school has to be done. There can be those “I don’t feel like it days” but those days mean the school year gets just a little longer so you don’t get to just skip.Plus, if you use a structured through the school system curriculum like we do, you still have to show up for school Monday through Friday. Skips mean unexcused absences and that is just not cool with me.
So, for a few days anyway, structure is going out the window and we are going to just have fun chilling because guess what??!!! School’s (finally) out for summer!!
