What happens when you I cheap out on dishwasher detergent? My kids don’t have too many chores but one “everyday chore” is to empty and fill the dishwasher. They put anything that they deem as still dirty into the sink. Boy was I frustrated to be greeted by a sink full of “clean” dishes one day. Except they weren’t clean. They looked it at first glance, all shiny and pretty. Then I looked a little closer. Oh gunky yuck-ness baked right on. Who’s ever tried to wash off baked on food? Yup, that cheap dishwasher detergent saved me a little money in the short run but it cost me more when I couldn’t even finish the bottle. I’m going back to my favorite Finish Dishwasher Detergent and not straying again, not even to loosen a tight budget.
The cheap stuff didn’t just bake on food. More often than not the dishwasher filler needed me to verify he put the right amount of detergent in, since it was liquid. or, “I accidentally overfilled it. Will it be okay?”or, I walked into the kitchen to be greeted by a horrendous chemical soap odor. No thank you. Goodbye cheapo. Hello smart shopping. From start to finish, I’m keeping my cabinet stocked with Finish dishwasher detergent.
Even better, I can SAVE on dishwasher detergent without buying the cheap stuff. WalMart has Finish on Rollback through October, and super awesome, I can use the coupon below for even greater savings. In my Coupon Queen days that’s what I called a deal on a deal.
However, Finish uses hydrogen peroxide to help bring that sparkly clean shine to dishes and has specially formulated their product to use less harsh chemicals than many other dishwasher detergents have. Yes, I can say adios to that strong and nasty chemical smell wafting from my steaming dishwasher.
For an even better shine I use Finish Rinse Aid to really make those dishes and glasses sparkle, and now I’m trying Finish dishwasher cleaner because those sprayer holes are looking a little nasty, and there is this funky grease residue on the dishwasher door that tells me it needs a good old cleaning. I tried running vinegar through and it just didn’t cut it. (Get what I did there?)
Instead of coming out to a sink full of “dirty clean” dishes, I come out to this-
