A fellow blogger has been talking about some yummy cupcakes and cake stores ALL WEEK!! She has been driving me up a wall, and I don’t mean that badly. It’s just when you crave something and then you keep seeing it everywhere….you know?
I can’t just up and drive to NJ for some cupcakes so I finally made some.
Use your favorite dark chocolate cake recipe, or a boxed mix – whatever floats your boat. Make them per the recipe and set out to cool.
While they were baking I made the frosting.
3/4 cup Nestle dark morsels
1/2 cup caramel – I used Mrs. Miller’s caramel topping
1/4 cup heavy cream
Kosher salt
Melt the caramel and chocolate in a small pan.
Mix the cream in well with beaters.
It makes a very thick glaze/ganache type frosting
Frost and sprinkle a very small amount of kosher salt on each cupcake.
Frosts 12 cupcakes
ENJOY! Oh, and grab a glass of milk or something.
