Hi Ho Matey, Tis shore I see ahead. Miracle of miracles as we’ve been adrift for far too long. And so we set foot on a desert island but without fear for with Recess Monkey, Desert Island Disc is just another adventure. We recommend you board ship and take the journey with us. We were sent a complimentary copy of Recess Monkey’s Desert Island Disc and were more than happy to add yet another Recess Monkey CD to our growing collection.

A vacation adventure begins as we are trapped inside our car for 9 hours of family road trip. This time we travel through music – Recess Monkey, Desert Island Disc style. I couldn’t quite lay my finger on it but the energy of Desert Island Disc is a little different than the Recess Monkey music we already know and love. Is it a secret we love Recess Monkey? If so, let me refresh your memory with Deep Sea Diver, and don’t forget In Tents. Through ocean deep and circus fun, our family has been along for the journey. It took me a few times of listening to this one to be as much in love but I got there. The kids however, were in love from day one. So today they are giving you a peek into their take on Recess Monkey, Desert Island Disc.
A 10 year old critique
This CD is just as great as the others. My favorites are ‘The Cave’ because it sounds adventurous. It’s about a cave they find in the woods and they are trying to figure out if they should go in it or not because they could find snakes, a pit that goes forever, or they could fall and break their backs. My other favorite is ‘Tallest Tree’. ‘Tallest Tree’ is another favorite because it is also adventurous. It’s about a kid who is climbing up a tree and finds an old tree house. It wasn’t as bouncy as the other CDs. Recess Monkey Desert Island Disc was smoother and seemed to be more about one thing than going from different types of scenes.
An 8 year old tries to choose
My favorite CD from Recess Monkey is Deep Sea Diver but I really enjoy Desert Island Disc too. My favorite songs are ‘Hermit Crab’ and ‘Hide and Go Seek’. I like ‘Hermit Crab’ because it is funny and describes what hermit crabs are and is all about them. I like ‘Hide and Seek’ because it is funny. It’s about a kid who is telling about his favorite hiding spot and how he keeps from being seen. I actually like all the songs so it’s hard to pick one or two. It’s a really good CD and you should buy it.
A 5 year old gets silly
My favorite songs were ‘The Cave’ and the Pirate song – ‘Gather Round You Seven C’s’ from Deep Sea Diver. I like “Cave in the Woods” because it’s mysterious (her words). There could be “poismous” snakes in the woods or bears. The silly factor comes in as she danced and made funny faces the whole time she thought of what to say.
