Homemade ginger garlic marinade makes this beef and broccoli stirfry recipe sing. It is a perfect quick easy meal.

I love ginger and garlic. I add freshly grated ginger to my chai and there is nothing better than a warm lemon ginger scone straight from the oven. And garlic? Garlic is the best thing ever discovered in the history of cooking. Together, these two fresh flavors make a spectacular marinade for Ginger Garlic Beef and Broccoli Stirfry.
I know, I know. You can dump a bottle of marinade into a bowl of stirfry meat in no time. However, in the time it would take you to figure out what half the ingredients on the back of the label even are, you can have this marinade minced, grated, and whisked right into shape.
I haven’t even mentioned how awesome it is to take that first bite and taste the flavors you melded together… from scratch… from fresh foods… give or take a bit of soy sauce (gluten free soy sauce) and Worcestershire sauce. Store bought bottles just can’t take the place of that taste and feeling.
I serve my ginger garlic beef and broccoli stir fry over salad, in a rice stir fry, or over 5 spice carrot “rice”.
Ginger Garlic Beef and Broccoli
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 20 minutes
- Total Time: 35 minutes
- Yield: 4 1x
- 1 pound flank steak
- 1 pound broccoli florets
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced – from white end all the way to tip
- 3 cloves garlic, mined (1 tablespoon preminced is fine)
- 1 medium onion, sliced into wedges
- 1/2 jalapenos with or without seeds (No seeds=a little heat/seeds=heat/you can skip)
- Pepper to taste (appr. 1/4 teaspoon)
- Slice steak into thin strips for stir fry and place in small glass bowl.
- Mix together marinade ingredients.
- Pour over steak and coat well.
- Cover and let stand for 15-20 minutes.
- While steak is marinating, put oil, broccoli, onion, and jalapeno in frying pan over medium/high heat.
- Cook with lid on until starting to soften, stirring frequently.
- Add steak and cook until just done.
- -10 minutes, depending how well you like your steak cooked.
