Ever want authentic Italian food that doesn’t come from a chain restaurant? Do authentic and chain restaurant really go in the same sentence? If you are in or near Philly you cannot miss trying out this little Italian restaurant tucked in on South St. Me n Mo Meatballs and More is a small restaurant but they sure can deliver up a good plate of gnocchi and meatballs.

Me n Mo Meatballs and More

I can’t believe it’s been over a month since my husband and I had a weekend getaway. I requested that we hold off on lunch until on our way back so we could stop in Philly at any number of places on my restaurant wishlist. My husband really wanted authentic Italian food and I had been told Me n Mo Meatballs and More was just that.

We walked into the restaurant and I noticed the decor right away. It was quite simple with little touches here and there but I fell in love with the wall sconces immediately. I really really want one of these for myself. How cool are they?!

In the back left corner of the restaurant they have a pasta maker set up where they make their own pasta. Did I mention that housemade pasta is the only way any Italian restaurant will pass my test?  If I can make better pasta at home than what I am paying at a restaurant, what’s the point? Me n Mo’s makes their own pasta, and the gnocchi? Well, it practically melts in your mouth.

Me n Mo’s has a variety of meatballs, pastas, and sauces, along with a few finer dining dishes. They make it really easy to order – pick your ball, pick your pasta, and pick your sauce. My husband and I weren’t willing to share meals and both went for the beef meatballs, with gnocchi and sauce a la vodka. You can check out all their options, but know that they also offer special meatballs at different times. The Korean meatballs sounded really yummy but they were out when we were there.

We give Me n Mo Meatballs and More 2 thumbs up. The meals are priced affordably, are great portions, taste great, and you can take the whole family. Make sure you stop in the next time you visit Philly and are looking for authentic Italian comfort food.
