Who doesn’t love homemade pasta? We are sharing an easy homemade pasta recipe with you today. This recipe is our family favorite and is super easy to teach the kids.
We love pasta and it is a nice cheap meal for any tight budget. Many people go to fancier restaurants to get delicious homemade pasta, but what if you could make it at home? Indeed, what if your KIDS could make it at home? Yes, it might cause a bit of a mess, but that’s why we have a roll of Bounty with Dawn on hand.
As cheap as that box of pasta is, homemade pasta is even cheaper, and the taste? The taste is amazing. Fresh pasta is like a little taste of heaven. So, it does take a little longer to make than running to the store and buying a box, but our homemade pasta has just 5 ingredients that you already have in your kitchen.
The kids loved learning how to make it and somehow it tastes so much better when they mix it, roll it, and cut it. Even the imperfectly cut pieces are simply amazing. Add these healthier meatballs for the finishing touch.
So who is ready for cooking class with the kids?

Step 1: Collect your ingredients.
Step 2: Measure flour and salt into the bowl. Mix them and then make a hole in the center.
Step 3: Pour the egg, water, and oil into the hole.
Step 4: Mix, mix, mix until all ingredients are incorporated.
Step 5: Wash those hands well. Dry them, and let’s get kneading.
Step 6: Knead your pasta dough for 5-10 minutes. (See why it’s good to have kids helping?) Punch the dough down, fold it into itself, punch it down again. Add a little flour if the dough sticks to your hands. Repeat … again and again.
Step 7: Cover the dough and let it rest 10 minutes.
Step 8: While the dough is resting, get some water on to boil. You can also get out a rolling pin, a little extra flour, and a clean flat surface to roll it on.
Step 9: Divide the dough into 3 balls.
Step 10: Roll dough until about 1/8 inch thick.
Step 11: Cut dough into thin strips and lay on well floured surface or pasta rack.
Step 12: Dump the pasta into boiling water and give it a quick stir.
Step 13: Cook 3-5 minutes. We love it al dente so we cook about 3 minutes.
Step 14: While the pasta is cooking, clean your pasta making surface well. We are loving the new Bounty with Dawn paper towels that we received.
Step 14: Strain and top with the yummy primavera recipe below.
Step 15: Enjoy a yummy homemade pasta recipe with your family and feel the satisfaction that you and your kids were able to make it yourself.
A note about those Bounty with Dawn paper towels. I am not a huge paper towel user but these things are amazing. They are super durable, not one of those paper towels that gets wet and flimsy and then falls to pieces. In fact, it is hard to believe they are PAPER towels. I find myself grabbing them whenever there is a mess to clean up or when the table needs wiped down.
Bounty with Dawn paper towels are designed so that when you wet them it activates the Dawn soap that is built in. Wash your surface, rinse the paper towel out, and wipe it down again for a rinse.
Best of all? You can reuse it! Done with the table? There’s still plenty of life in that paper towel. I may as well wipe down the stove while I’m at it. You know that after dinner saucy massacre? GONE!
