I hope by now it’s no secret that I am fairly frugal. Living on an incredibly tight budget I have no choice but to be. I suffer sticker shock when I go clothing shopping for my kids in a “real” store.  Thanks to this awesome thing called seasonal consignment sales, often specializing in kids’ clothing and toys, I can stay on budget. One of my favorite local sales in terms of selection and prices, is JBF Philly. This sale is NO JOKE!

Walk in the door with a plan! Bring your list, prioritize what you need most, and methodically work your way through. If you come with a plan you will survive. If you don’t it will take you 5 – 10 minutes just to get over the frantic feeling of “where do I start”? Speaking of bringing a list, bring something to carry your selections in too. I recommend a laundry basket. Add a rope to drag it around with and you are golden. Your arms are going to get tired if you have to tote it or a bag around. They do have a limited supply of shopping bags but they are nowhere near enough for the way I shop. If you aren’t sure of something throw it in and sort when you are done. Check everything over really well for tears and stains. Make sure zippers work and no buttons are missing. Enjoy all the great deals but make sure you only buy what you will use and can handle. Overflowing drawers can be a hassle to organize and keep cleaned up – no experience with that here (haha)!

Thanks to seasonal consignment sales like JBF Philly, I am able to clothe all 3 kids for around $200 every season. Not only that but I am able to clothe them in the styles and brand I want without going for broke. Each kid gets to wear the style that represents them and I don’t have to fight over the cost of those items. Some of my favorite finds have been Janie and Jack ($2), Hartstrings ($4 dress), and U.S. Polo (jean shorts for $5). I can’t wait to see what treasures I find this season!

I am really excited to have the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the JBF Philly sale this Wednesday. I’ve sorted my kids’ clothes, I am making a list, and Wednesday, BRING IT ON! I am going to check off as many items on my list as I can. With the huge selection of clothing, shoes, toys, and decor at JBF Philly, I am pretty sure I will be mostly set for summer with just one stop.
