Homemade peanut butter is super easy and has just 3 ingredients. If you are a “real food” foodie this is a big deal. Store bought peanut butter often has sugar in it or is rather pricey.
We often go really cheap and buy peanuts in the shell. Shelling peanuts is tedious work and time consuming but it’s a job my kids don’t mind doing if we pay them in peanuts. You can just as easily buy already shelled, unsalted roasted peanuts and make your job easier than ever.
There is nothing better than a spoonful of homemade peanut butter on homemade waffles or our favorite peanut butter ice cream cookies.

If you like your peanut butter a little sweet, just drizzle a tablespoon of your favorite honey into the food processor with the oil. I’m sorry JIF, we’re breaking up.
According to my husband, “This is what peanut butter tastes like?!” Why yes, yes it is. Um, it’s PEANUTS. I would think it DOES taste like peanut butter. I store my homemade peanut butter in ball jars or “reduced, reused, recycled” glass jars that I have stashed.
Now, even if you don’t want to go all crazy making your own (VERY YUMMY) peanut butter, that’s okay. But the next time you pull an empty jar out of the cabinet, if you have peanuts and a food processor or chopper, you’re all good. Don’t run out and buy, it just dump some peanuts into the food processor and make it yourself. Made with love always tastes better. Well, almost always.
