It’s not often I fall in love with a doll. In fact, dolls and I have a very long and ugly history. From chopping off my doll’s hair and using black sharpie on her head, to smashing my sister’s favorite doll into a tree and popping her head off, I’m not the poster child for dolls. I do remember spending hours flipping through a certain doll catalog though so apparently there was a little hope for me. A few weeks ago I came across Hearts for Hearts Girls and I knew I had to have one for my daughter. I loved the line, the story, the cause. You see, for every doll purchased, a portion is donated to World Vision (over $250,000 so far) to help kids in the region the doll represents. I contacted the company and they were so kind as to send me a Hearts for Hearts Girl for my daughter.
I fell in love with her. I am quite certain that if Mosi had existed when I was a child I would have loved her dearly. I would have been young enough to not truly appreciate all the fine details and the quality workmanship. I would have loved the jewelry, the clothes, and most of all, the story. Ever since I learned to read, I read any book I could get my hands on. The best part about them sending me Mosi is that I get to play with her first – for the purpose of telling you all about her of course. Just don’t tell my daughter. Hopefully I can get her back into the box in perfect order.
Besides the fact that part of the proceeds are donated to helping kids, they have a great price point for something that’s “the next step up” from your traditional doll. These dolls are priced between $25-$30. After seeing the dolls I can honestly say they are worth every penny. In fact, I’m going to say something I never say. Even if you cannot find a sale or “deal”, these dolls are worth full price – for real. I definitely believe they should be on every doll loving girl’s list and maybe even contemplated for a non-doll loving girl.
I’ll be sure to share a picture of my daughter opening her present on Christmas Day. I just know she is going to love Mosi so very much. For doll information, videos, and games, check out Hearts for Hearts Girls. Best of all, each doll comes with a special code that allows you to unlock a special membership to a kid-safe site full of exclusive fun Hearts for Hearts Girl games and activities.
You can purchase a Hearts for Hearts Girl for that special girl in your life at WalMart.com, Target/Target.com, Meijer, Amazon, Toys R Us, or Barnes & Noble. They are also available at the Playmates Toys website.

I am commenting here in hopes that the word can go out and maybe somebody out in the world will be able to help us.
My six year old daughter has worked really hard and saved her money for 2 years to be able to buy a heart for hearts doll. Mosi specifically. She very excitedly got enough money ($40) and we began to try to order one. We thought that we had found one and ordered it three days ago. Today we found out that it had sold out before we got our order in. My daughter was heart broken and sobbed. I have looked online every where and can not find a Mosi doll anywhere!
Is there anyone, anywhere that could help us? We would greatly appreciate it!
Hi Kaely, Were you able to find one yet? Shoot me an email if not and I will see if there’s anything I can do to help. realthekitchenandbeyond (at) gmail
I too love the Hearts4HeartsGirls.com doll line.
World Vision (the global charity that Hearts4Hearts (PlaymatesToys.com) currently supports) is a well established quality charity.
Alas, my married daughter is too old for the H4H dolls I own (currently all of them!), but they await a possible granddaughter. And an extra “Lauryce” (their biracial doll from New Orleans) is hidden in my closet for any future daughters of my mixed race son.
The H4H dolls do recapture some of the Doll/Researched Book magic which American Girl dolls had (have)…but they are set in modern times…and cost 1/3 or less of the AG current price.
Playmates Toys sells some outfits for Hearts4Hearts girls; as do several people on Etsy. If you sew, see Pinterest for a few free Hearts4Heartsgirls patterns! Mine are free… (search Pinterest – under my name Vanessa Knutsen).
…ps I too had a fearsome history with dolls. Cut off the head of some kind of princess doll, destroyed my mother’s Shirley Temple doll…and a sister buried two of my dolls…
Fortunately, I grew up and treated my kids (both alive & well) much better! And my sister’s kids thrive also 😉
LOL. I needed that laugh. I treat my kids pretty well too.
Hope your daughter liked her Mosi doll. Mosi (thru my research) led me to discover that Native American teens have an incredibly high suicide rate. I currently have some facebook/other connections where I get some Native american news feeds.
I hope that the quality (affordable) Mosi and her story…can be a small part of building a Native American girl’s self esteem. And she can also be a way to teach others about the US’s & Canada’s Native peoples. My little contribution – is a free basic Native American “dress” outfit (free pattern..on my pinterest…no strings). One can sew on beads, etc. to decorate her according to one’s specific tribe/nation. Internet & Pinterest holds lots of pics of beautiful native american patterns, etc.
