This winter was very long and bitterly cold, so we are extra excited to fire up our grill now that Spring is here. We love grilling all sorts of things but I never thought of grilling frozen french fries until I had the idea for a parmesan sweet potato fry and mixed vegetable side dish.
I never enjoyed sweet potatoes when I was growing up. I am sure my parents were secretly glad because sweet potatoes always cost more than white potatoes. It wasn’t until recently that I started to love (read: become obsessed) with sweet potatoes in any and all forms. That’s why I chose to use Alexia All-Natural Sweet Potato Fries with Sea Salt in this newest healthy grilling recipe. Healthy grilling recipes are high on our list this summer as we try to eat healthier and still enjoy good food. Growing up can be sad as I have found that plain french fries just don’t bring me as much joy as they did when I was a kid. However, I still get to experience that joy through my children’s eyes since they love to have them all the time. Instead of just throwing french fries in the oven, I have been finding ways to change them up so we all still enjoy them. As you can see from this recipe, french fries are much more versatile than just throwing them on a tray in the oven. Hello, grilled french fries.
Having easy healthy grilling recipes also serves a second purpose. As I work toward turning our outdoor space into a relaxing haven, I have been envisioning many grilling parties with friends and family this summer. No one wants to be slaving over the grill while everyone else relaxes and visits. This parmesan sweet potato and mixed vegetable dish fits the bill since it is super easy to make, company worthy, and takes just a few minutes. It’s also perfect because we can throw a grilling basket on with the burgers and hot dogs and have our whole meal grilled and ready to serve in 15 – 20 minutes.
While I prefer the Alexia Sweet Potato Fries with Sea Salt or Spicy Sweet Potato fries, you could swap them out for Alexia Rosemary Fries. However, I really love the color and flavor the sweet potato fries add to the dish. Oh, and if you really want to hit it out of the ballpark, throw some Alexia Onion Rings on the grill too. Watch them closely though because they grill in just minutes.
No matter which ones you choose, we have tried them all and love what a high quality product they are. Are you ready for a recipe that will knock you and your guests’ flip flops off?

Great idea! Do you think it’d work well with fresh sweet potato cut into fries too?
Yes, but you would want to grill the sweet potato fries by themselves until somewhat soft or prebake them until soft.
These look so great! And perfect for summer grilling!
Thank you.
I tried the Alexia sweet potato fries a few weeks ago, and found them tasty and convenient!
I was really happy with their flavor too.
This looks like such a fun recipe idea! Plus, I won’t have to run between the oven and the grill to make the entire meal. Thanks for sharing how you use Alexia fries and onion rings! #client
Thank you. I am a huge fan of cooking a full meal on the grill. The ‘in and out’ component you can get with grilling drives me crazy.
These look a great side for summer!
Thank you.
