  3. Gather up a few friends and get a group discount to many parks and and attractions.
  4. Explore a wildlife sanctuary or bird observatory.
  5. Do the math. A yearly membership may be the same cost as 1 trip for your family. Consider parking costs, etc. Also see if your library has a museum pass program like ours does.
  6. Pack a lunch and drinks! You’ll save a fortune right there.
  7. Check local businesses and fast food restaurants for local attraction discount coupons. You can easily save $20 per ticket to many amusement parks this way.
  8. Play date and picnic at the park – It’s free and fun with friends.
  9. Buy an inexpensive slip and slide, sprinkler, or small pool and have fun in your back yard.
  10. Check out 4-H camps. They are often lower cost and offer many fun programs.

  12. Pull out the flour and KoolAid packs and make some good old fashioned homemade play dough. Stick the kids out on the porch with a vinyl tablecloth and keep that mess outside.

    1. I hear you there! Everything is so pricy. Grew up poor, live somewhat poor. You learn to embrace everything you can get and tricks to make it happen. (Like blogging lol).
