Well, it’s been about 4 weeks since I started C25K. Overachiever that I am, I was going to the gym 7 days a week, running every other day. Sometimes for the runs that came easier, I didn’t skip a day. I recommend skipping a day. The last two weeks I decided to take one day off a week. Sunday is my day off. It’s good to have a day off. It helps you reset but make sure when the next day rolls around you don’t take another day off. Get up, get at ’em, and get it done!
Today was Week 5, Day 1. I psyched myself up. Had to get up at 4:45 AM and that was really pushing it today. I just wanted to crawl back into my cozy warm bed but I didn’t. I got moving and pushed forward. I have been dreading this day for awhile. Several friends have struggled with this week and I’m not a runner. I worried I wouldn’t make it and would get discouraged.
I DID IT!!! I totally did it. I prepared myself that if I didn’t make it that was okay and I would keep on trying. I am so relieved I made it because there is nothing better than that feeling of accomplishment.
Who knew I would go from not-a-runner, to maybe-someday-could-be-a-runner?
What are you doing for your health and fitness?
No time for the gym? Take 5-10 minutes in the morning and do some exercise. Walk in place, do some situps and/or pushups. Take a few minutes here and there to repeat what you did in the morning or grab some hand weights and strengthen those arms. Get Jillian Michaels – 30 Day Shred. She’s tough, but gets results. Break it up and do what you can. Even 15 minutes of exercise a day is better than none.
Today I’m linking up with my friend Barb at A Life in Balance. Check out her great tips on finding time for fitness with your kids – Be Active with Your Kids.
If you’re at Week 5, YOU ARE A RUNNER. Go you! Are you running in the Stomp this Friday? I’m making the trek out to West Chester because I want to have some fun!
Thanks for joining Motivation Monday!
Well, my run is considered a walk by most runners’ standards so I have a ways to go yet haha. I am not running Friday but hope to meet up with some of you afterward.
Great job on the C25k- I have gotten to week 5 twice and can’t really run beyond that. Doing it a third time now on week 2 let’s see even if I don’t make it. I am still doing it.
I love 30 day shred one of my favorite workout. I am currently doing a heavy weights and alternating c25k on my cardio days.
