Oh yeah, one post, 2 topics. Today I intended to do a “Fashion Friday” post. Yesterday I intended to do a “Thrift Store Finds” post. How about a post that includes both AND cost under $20?

Last week a friend and I made a spontaneous stop at Goodwill. My purpose was to find something to make a “thrift store find” post around. I did not find the lamp I was hoping to utilize but I did find a few other things that I got pretty excited about. Today’s thrift store find is a pair of Nicole Miller pants – IN MY SIZE!!! This never happens. You know, the moment you walk up to the clothing carousel and spy THE PANTS. The pair you are afraid to check the tag on because you know they are going to fit a waist the size of your own thigh. The pair that will make you feel absolutely awful and fat because you will never fit them.

But then, that miracle happens. The one where it SAYS it is your size – right before you realize that really good brands that SAY your size are generally too small for you. With trepidation I tried them on and oh my, they fit. I’m in love and I only had to pay $4 for them, which is perfect considering I plan on losing more weight and the ability to wear the pants. That part’s a little sad.

Today’s photo shoot has been brought to you by my 9 year old. You will not necessarily be able to find these exact products BUT let it be inspiration to you. You don’t need a huge budget. you just need to search, be patient, and buy when you DO find that special something. Then when you have something to “dress up for” you have an affordable outfit in your closet.Even at cheap prices only buy what you love. Otherwise you have a cheap wardrobe full of stuff that doesn’t scream out “WEAR ME!”

I did not accessorize today but I have an heirloom necklace with a Mexican Fire Opal I would wear with it. I am very low key on accessories especially when I wear my opal.

Shirt – Everyone needs a simple black shirt – Mossimo – $5
Pants – Nicole Miller, perfect condition – $4 but I saved $1.20 with my Goodwill Loyalty card
Shoes – DEB – $10

Outfit TOTAL – $18.20
How I feel in it? Priceless

  1. GORGEOUS! I have such bad luck with pants at thrift stores, too. I usually stick to tops and skirts, but now I’m going to have to stop avoiding those pant racks. Oh, and I think the best way to post about Fashion Friday is to find a completely amazing outfit for under $20 total. 🙂 Thanks for linking up!
