Duck Bacon, Marmalade, and Arugula Sandwiches

Our grocery store has a variety of D’Artagnan Meat products. There are mostly “exotic” options but I’ve been most intrigued by the duck bacon, so when an opportunity to try a variety of D’Artagnan Meats landed in my email, I said “sign me up”! Finally an opportunity to try some of the things I’ve been wanting to and just haven’t gotten around to picking up.

I’m a fan of easy gourmet – taking favorite classic dishes and making a few simple changes delivers a brand new easy homemade recipe that anyone can pull off. Yes, even you, Miss-I-can’t-cook-how-do-you-come-up-with-these-things.

I received a variety of meats, and will share my picks below in case you aren’t a Facebook fan who already got a sneak peek. After you ogle the recipe and maybe drool just a little (Shhh! I won’t tell!) over the recipe, check out your opportunity to win.

D'Artagnan Duck Bacon, Marmalade, and Arugula Sandwich Ingredients

I started frying up the duck bacon and ooooh the scent. My whole family was dying for dinner. They gingerly tasted arugula, skeptically eyed the marmalade, and all but grabbed luscious slices of smoky duck bacon off the griddle. I forced them to wait until I took pictures. It was hard. I may have feared for my life. I may also be slightly dramatic.

However, before we go any farther, did I ever tell you about the first time I had duck? I kid you not, it was on a jet somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean. It was the best duck I had ever eaten because South African Airlines worked some sort of magic on their meals. Business Class was served our choice of steak or duck and it was unbelievably good. Better than the fancy restaurant I had it in some time after that.

But I’ve traveled down memory lane long enough. I love D’Artagnan Food because the company cares about quality and has cared for over 30 years. One of the original “farm-to-fork” companies, they have very strict standards, sourcing their meat from farms and ranches that agree to only produce high quality, and you can rest assured the meat has no growth hormones or antibiotics.

And the duck bacon…definitely high quality. I have a few more products to taste but I am confident they will taste good. Stay tuned because I’ll be sure to dish my thoughts, whether it’s here or on social media. And now for a recipe.

BMAs, Aka Duck Bacon, Marmalade, and Arugula Sandwiches

  • Author: Heather McCurdy
  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cook Time: 15 minutes
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 5 -10 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 18 ounce package duck bacon
  • 1 handful baby arugula
  • Orange Marmalade
  • Favorite bread (I used sliced ciabatta)

Instructions

  1. Fry duck bacon to preferred crispness, setting aside to let the grease drip off.
  2. Toast bread just lightly. You don’t want to it too crunchy to bite into.
  3. Slather a thin layer of orange marmalade on one slice of bread.
  4. Add a small handful of arugula.
  5. Top with 1-2 slices bacon.
  6. Top with the last piece of toast.

NOTE: Makes 10 small sandwiches with 1 slice bacon each, 5 large with 2 slices, or less if you want more bacon piled on.

What’cha hanging around for? Go. Go buy your Duck Bacon, Marmalade, and Arugula for these easy gourmet sandwiches. Oh. You want a giveaway? Okay. Here ya go. By the way, what will YOU order if you win? Give us the dish in the comments.
