  1. Melt butter.
  2. Add shaved dried beef.
  3. Stir over medium high heat until beef is just slightly crisped on edges.
  4. Stir in cornstarch.
  5. Add 1 cup of milk.
  6. Stir until thick.
  7. Add remaining milk.
  8. Stir often over medium high heat until thick. (Appr. 15 minutes)
  9. Serve over fried potatoes or toast.
