Since chicken wings are on sale at ACME for $1.39# I decided to give them a try. I often want to but think it’s ridiculous to pay so much money for so little meat. If you are a vegetarian I suggest you stop reading this, like now.

I think I can safely say they were a hit. K(6) and R(4) ate four each. The plates look like something out of Lion King, rather a horrific and graphic sight for me. However, they turned out great and were really low maintenance, thanks to my oven and Actifry.

For a family of 5 we used 12-14 chicken wings.

1/2 cup cornmeal
spices to season – I did not measure – use the flavors your family likes
pinch of ground ginger
2 generous pinches chili powder
1 generous pinch parsley
4 grinds black pepper
2 generous pinches smoked sea salt
1 tablespoon garlic powder
generous pinch paprika

Mix together and then completely coat wings in mixture. Shake to get extra coating off.

Actifry directions – I put 6 in the Actifry.

Put in Actifry.
Drizzle 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil over the wings.
Cook for 30-35 minutes.

Oven directions –

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Coat baking sheet in extra virgin olive oil.
Place wings on sheet.
Drizzle a little olive oil over them.
At this point I would have also drizzled Frank’s Hot Sauce over them if I had some.
Bake 30-35 minutes.

I will get a better picture next time but my family is getting tired of having to wait while I take pictures of dinner.
