Week 1 in our new home and the kids and I went on our first “settled in” shopping trip. I went a little crazy buying ALL THE PRODUCE. Okay, not too crazy. I stayed under budget and I have some money left to work on building my stockpile.

Since we are still unpacking boxes I am saving the true stockpile building for next week. I have $20 left for the week and towards stockpiling. As usual, I used these frugal tips to help me stay on budget while still making sure we eat well. You will notice bread isn’t on the list. I have some mini bagels left from last week and am making my own bread as soon as my kitchen is set up.

Stockpiling on a Budget Tip: Buy extra of sale items for your stockpile. Hot dogs freeze well so I bought a few packs. We don’t eat many of them so I only bought a few. I will freeze or can the tomatoes for stewed tomatoes or sauce. This gives us a healthier affordable option for winter.
