School starts one week from today. I know many moms are ecstatic for school to start. Some are even jealous of ME that school starts on Monday but they are missing a very important point. School starting for ME means much more work. It means another full time job gets added to my life, not more free hours. This week is going to be full of crazy planning and prepping.

This marks year number 6 in our school at home life. I have been through this drill enough to know that September is one crazy month – mark that INSANE. Even more insane is that I am adding child number 3. I’m not losing anything off my crazy schedule. Rather I am just adding those hours. Between 3 kids we have 15 hours of school to complete in a day. Do the math! Blogging, keeping my own house, cleaning other homes, making 3 meals a day, teaching a co-op in September – 2 hours a week – means there are nowhere near enough hours in my day. It’s a wonder my hair isn’t gray just thinking about it. Prepping is a lifesaver for me and in reality will make any family’s life easier no matter what school method you use.

I build a house cleaning routine and (plan to) stick to it. If I don’t it gets out of control.
