Review
Adventure Aquarium invited a group of bloggers to visit the aquarium for free several weeks ago. I was so excited to say yes because we’ve pulled that worn out “been meaning to visit” for 5 years now and just never got around to it with all the other fun things to do in Philly. We’ve been missing out! Ours was a whirlwind visit since we had prior plans for the day so even with all we saw we know there is so much more to explore. The day’s main attraction was Mighty Mike and SpongeBob Square Pants in 4D. Yeah, 4D. We aren’t a SpongeBob family so we can’t tell you what the show or 4D were like but we did have plenty of fun exploring the aquarium.
With all our favorites showcased at Adventure Aquarium we left with almost 100% satisfaction. See, I failed to make it to the shark tunnel and that is son #1’s most looked forward to part. #Momfail there especially since we saw my favorite part – the turtles. Tank after tank of cute and ugly and fun turtles lined one wall. Every one else loved them too so I feel slightly justified there. Guess we have to go back and check out the shark tunnel now, huh?
I touched a shark in the small shark tank, a sting ray in the stingray pool, and popped outside to take a peek at the penguins. I think son #2 would bring one home if he could. Although he did admit they are a bit stinky. I’m also not sure he wants to feed them fish. Guess they will have to stay where they are and we just visit them occasionally.
My daughter loved to look at the fish and hated the alligator. Child was even scared of the alligator pictures. In her opinion there is no amount of glass thick enough to keep that big bad gator from eating her for lunch. Weighing in at over 800 pounds, 14 foot Mighty Mike does look a bit menacing. Especially, as he sits there in gator fashion, half above water, half below, beating even her in a stare down. On the flip side we also got to meet a baby alligator, Melvin. Too young to know his gender, he calmly sat in the trainer’s hand as she told us about this little fella and answered the myriads of questions. You know, questions like “does he poop?” “does he bite?” “Will he run away?” and of course “How do you know he’s a boy?” Answer to the last one is “we don’t and we won’t until he is older. He might need a name change to Melvina. We’ll see.” No pictures of Mighty Mike! We want to leave something exciting for YOU to discover.
Adventure Aquarium has fun for all ages with a musical kids’ section, turtles and frogs, a shark tunnel, explore stations where you can touch a stingray, a shark or sea urchins, sea stars and cucumbers,ย a dome of flashlight fish andย Mighty Mike, gator extraordinaire.
Take a day trip or plan a vacation near the Jersey Shore and Philadelphia. With plenty of fun family attractions, don’t forget to add Adventure Aquarium to your list. You can buy tickets or a membership here.

We love petting the stingrays.
My fave part is seeing all the different species.
I LOVE sea turtles! Thanks for this giveaway!
We love the big aquariums with the coral reef. That and the sting rays!!
The coral reef amazes me! Well, all of it does but that especially.
The sharks and sea turtles…and I love sea dragons if they have them – so beautiful!
We are huge fans of the sharks!!
We love the please touch tanks
Love the shark tunnel
We love everything at the aquarium but I think the sharks are our one of our most favorite creatures to see. Thanks for this giveaway.
Seeing the jellyfish at the aquarium is very cool. Encountering them in the ocean, not so cool.
I love to visit the shark tank ๐
I think penguins are cute but haven’t gone to an aquarium ever(least not that I can remember) so it would be pretty cool to go.
We love watching the hippos at feeding time! The jellyfish are pretty cool too!
Are the hippos at Adventure Aquarium? Are you saying I missed even more?!
I love the hippos and turtles!
Turtles AND hippos are fun to watch. Hippos are so ugly and yet so fascinating.
Sharks are my favorite part if the aquarium. ๐
They have so many kinds of sharks at Adventure Aquarium. That was pretty cool.
Our favorite is the sharks!.. and Magic,… I mean, Mighty Mike!
There is something creepy and very non-magical ๐ about that big alligator staring at me though….like I’m prey haha.
Sharks!
I thought it was really cool that they had a touching station for small sharks.
My favorite part of visiting an aquarium is seeing the penguins. They are so cute waddling around and diving into their pool.
Penguins are a favorite part here too…even though they are stinky. You will have to message me if you come to Philly or win the tickets and use them. I would love to meet one of the super cool people on the other side of my screen.
