A Wired Recess Monkey

I laughed when I received my copy of the newest Recess Monkey CD – Wired. As a mom I have always envisioned Recess Monkey as wired kids growing up. With the energy of almost every single song of every single CD, what mother could help but envision a wired child?

They totally prove it with the title song, Wired. They say “nothing’s going to slow me down” and I am inclined to believe that. They come out with new music faster than I can keep up. While this isn’t my favorite Recess Monkey CD it is still a great one, and my kids really enjoy it. My favorite songs are “Garage Sale” and “Off the Grid“.

My favorite thing about Recess Monkey, no matter the CD, is that anytime I want to get them moving all I need to do is put Recess Monkey on. An added bonus is that they are more than a “one cd show”. I don’t have to listen to the same songs every single time. We can change it up. I decided that I would ask the ones whose opinions REALLY matter – the kids. My kids. My WIRED kids.

My 11 year old is trying his hand at writing a review. We are working on his writing and he may have a few rough edges here but I loved watching him choose his words, debate what he said, and edit.

Since my mom is a blogger and I am a kid, she asked me to do this review. The Recess Monkeys gave us this new cd for a preview since we have done two or three reviews for them before. These are my thoughts.

On the positive side, I like how they always have a similar music base. I love the songs Wired, Brick by Brick (since I am feel like I am the world biggest Lego fanatic), and the Time Machine song. I like Wired and Time Machine because they have catchy tunes.

Okay, I rate this cd 3 out of 4 stars. The reason is that some of the songs are a little annoying. For example, the sound of the characters on Garage Sale song and the Car Wash song drive me nuts. The rest are pretty much fine. These are the reasons I rate this 3 stars.

So this is not my favorite cd, but it is still a great cd. I like all their other songs. That is why I rate this cd 3 out of 4 stars.
