In early December I was offered the chance to try a free month of A.R.T. Method (Active Resistance Training), an online fitness program by celebrity fitness trainer, Terri Walsh. With a studio in NYC she took to the internet with a catalog of great video mat class work outs you can utilize at home. You don’t need any equipment to do them but if you have a pair of yoga blocks you can use those for an even more effective work out. I love this. I hate when I see a great exercise program but it requires I buy things to use it. I can’t always do that. If I could I would just go to the closest gym.
Terri is a no-nonsense instructor BUT she doesn’t scream at you. I love this. No one never found that yelling at me produced good results unless they were trying to make me cry. She encourages you where you are at and pushes you to be more, do more.
The workouts vary from 30 minutes to 1 hour and you can choose what you want to work on at any given time. With work outs designed to work the whole body or to work specific areas, the sky is the limit. Terri and her team teach you how to use your Active Resistance Points to make your work out more effective while doing the same routine. I can tell you it works. Concentrating on those active resistance points while doing a basic 10 minute pushup, sit up, squat routine will give you a better work out than if you just go through the motions and do the same routine.
The program is reasonably priced at $6.99 a month and gives you access to her entire website and routines. Plus she has a private Facebook group where you can get encouragement and interact with others who are doing the same program. Terri is a very active presence there and is awesome at answering questions and relating with everyone on the board. There is something so much nicer about having a program where the trainer is actually present and interacts with her clients.

~YES! With a crazy schedule and oftentimes not being able to do more than
10 minutes a day OR LESS over the 5 weeks, I still lost over 2 pounds even
with the dreaded holiday eating that did a lot of damage to my weight loss

~ NO! While hand weights and yoga blocks are helpful and create a more
strenuous work out, these routines are designed to be able do them with
How long are the work outs?
~ 30-45 minutes. However, if I don’t have a lot of time I do the quick 10
minute Tech Study to make sure I am getting exercise and that in and of
itself has been very effective for me.
Here are my before and after photos. The first were taken 2 months ago but that was the last weight and inches I had lost. I actually gained a little between there and the beginning of December. Regrettably I can’t go back in time and take better pictures or take pictures from December.
