We were invited to Christmas Village at LOVE Park again this year and we all jumped at the opportunity to visit. Here’s a peek at my top gift selections from this authentic German Christmas market.

Full of holiday cheer and Christmas spirit, this is one Philly holiday stop you need to make. The Christmas Village will be open right up through Christmas Eve and reopen the day after for one last hurrah. There’s a full lineup of holiday events and booths full of food and gifts for all ages. Here are the highlights of this evening’s visit and my gift guide picks. Will you be surprised by the amount of food related items on my list?

Winter Entertainment Lineup
December 5th-6th – German American Holiday – Come out and join the party as LOVE Park is filled with the sight and sound of local German American bands in traditional attire.
December 12th-13th – Charity Weekend – Make-A-Wish will be here for the weekend to raise funds. You can also buy a heart for the wish wall and $1 will go directly to Make-A-Wish.
December 19th-20th – LOVE weekend! Drop in for a visit and take a “love-themed” picture for a chance to win a prize. After all, what is LOVE Park without a little romance?
December 26th-27th – Homecoming weekend – The gift-giving holiday is over but someone missed that no-so-subtle hint? You have one last chance to get that item you’ve been wanting or just spend a little on yourself.
Tasty Tuesday and Thursday – Every Tuesday and Thursday there will be wine and cheese and chocolate pairings. You can buy your tickets ahead of time for a reduced rate.
A Christmas Village Gift Guide
**Please note this gift guide includes some affiliate links. Buying through them costs you nothing extra. However, we recommend you visit the Christmas Village for purchases if you are close enough.**
Käthe Wohlfahrt – One of our holiday traditions is to buy an ornament each year. You have to take a careful whirl through the tent. The woodwork is amazing and you will find just the right ornament for anyone or any tree.
The Bacon Jams – Spreadable bacon jam is amazing and local. Created in Philly, it is a list topper – not just for holiday entertaining but stockings and gift baskets as well.
NY Cruets – These beautifully crafted cruets are just the thing for any food lover. They make a pretty and useful statement piece. I have my eye on one….
John and Kira’s – Lovely amazing chocolates. Need I say more? I love John and Kira’s and their catalog is something to be drooled over. I’ll never turn down these as long as there are no nuts inside.
Chaddsford Winery – They have 2 mulled wines for the holidays – Holiday Spice and Spiced Apple. I’ll take a bottle of Holiday Spice, thankyouverymuch! You are able to buy it by the glass on-site and there is even special seating so you can sit and relax this year as you enjoy some hot mulled wine.
Helmut’s Original Austrian Strudel – I dare you to visit and not buy strudel. This makes a lovely hostess gift but you also need to buy some for Christmas Breakfast. And one for me. Don’t forget me!!
Brunkow Cheese – The cheese. You know I found the cheese right off, right? Of course! You have to try the cheese…before they sell out. Amazing stuff, my favorite is the garlic. This company comes from Wisconsin and the cheese is one of the most sought after products in the market.
Mazuyk and Metelev – These adorable and quality made walking toys and solar powered toys and fantastic. I could sit and watch them all night. They also make great gifts for kids.
Silk Road Traders – I was so very disappointed they didn’t have any ceramic bowls this time. I wanted to buy another one. They do have beautiful stained glass hanging lanterns though.
More Eats
The German Grill – Braturst, Currywurst, and Sauerkraut, oh my! What are you waiting for? This isn’t a gift guide item. It’s called lunch…or dinner.
Berlin Döner Kebap and Belgian Fries – Don’t choose. Take a friend and split all the delicious food. Belgian Fries hand cut and fried before your very eyes. Why yes, you do hear them calling your name.
German Sweets – Roasted Nuts and Chocolate Covered Fruits. This is one of your “sweet treat” stops. The chocolate covered pears intrigued me most. You can smell this delicious booth from quite a distance.
