30 Day Meal Plan – Using up a Stockpile

Does stockpile make you envision an episode of hoarders? I can ensure you I don’t have THAT. Actually, I just inventoried and my stockpile of food is the worst it has been in 5 years.  Many factors contribute to the woeful state of my cabinets – more fresh, whole foods, switching to making some of my own condiments, not shopping as much, and lack of that killer deal we use to be able to depend on. My brain is still revolting over the price increases and I have not completely re-programmed it or become familiar with my new price points. This summer I am really going to work on that – price points, coupon organization, what I will make versus buy. Or wait, maybe I won’t.

We are moving in 1.5-2.5 months. My life is going to be a whirlwind!! So, as I said, I inventoried my stockpile. Over the next 30 days I am going to work on getting my stockpile DOWN. It goes against the very nature of me. Stretch, save, make it last. It’s time. It’s time to purge as much as I can and start fresh. You will probably see more processed food on my dinner menu than usual since I am trying to use up the stuff we usually by-pass and save “for a crazy day”.  I will be sad to see an almost empty freezer but I will be happy to not deal with tons of frozen foods making a transition on a most likely hot day or two.

I will get my 30 Day dinner menu up shortly. It will be a work in progress and won’t have all my veggies and meats since that will depend on what’s on sale but here we go!! Gearing up for a (nother) move.
