“I’ve got slushie in my ear.” If you have watched Veggie Tales’, Josh and the Big Wall, it makes total sense. If you haven’t, well, it won’t make any sense at all. I hear it in my head every time we make anything slushie related. These watermelon slushies are super easy to make.

Watermelon Slushies Recipe

This time of year is so perfect for watermelon. We’ve already picked up a few beautiful seedless watermelons already this year and are still not tired of watermelon. This morning I thought of making smoothies but didn’t feel like dealing with it so I threw the leftover watermelon into the blender with equal parts ice. Watermelon slushies for the kids and the mama.

Watermelon Slushies

  • 3 cups watermelon (approximately)
  • 3 cups ice (add more to the consistency you are looking for)

Blend until smooth.

There you have it. I can guarantee that cost less than $4, which is what I would have paid down the street for $1 special slushies. PLUS I made them in the time it takes everyone to get their shoes on and in the car.

Benefits? Healthy, yummy watermelon slushies that are all natural sugar, no preservatives, no additives, no artificial coloring, high fructose syrup, or names you can’t pronounce.

Negatives? I need to clean my blender but that isn’t hard do to by hand with this chunk-less drink, and popping it in the dishwasher is even easier.
