The talented women behind Classy Mommy and Mommies With Style pulled off another fabulous event, Spring into Summer Mom Mixer 2013, on April 13, 2013. Once again, Mom Mixer was displayed on XiX of the stunning Bellevue Philly. What better way to celebrate the entrance of warm weather than to bring together brands that celebrate summer and bloggers? We entered the floor, decked out in Spring to Summer Mom Mixer perfection. Check out these great brands I was able to connect with.
As we walked in we were greeted by my current food fave – Koru Dairy. It’s rich, it’s creamy, it’s amazing. I’m still in love. Even better I got to meet Heather and catch up with Leslie, some of the friendly Koru people on the other side of this screen. They brought in a fun Bosco picture machine for the day. If you haven’t tried Koru yet, look for a store near you. Oh yeah, and I found out that at least 99.9% of the products they source are GMO free. They would love to tell you it’s 100% but there is an very slight chance. I also learned they are exploring a new yoghurt (yes, with an ‘h’) product. I cannot wait! **Sadly Koru has closed its doors.**
Lands’ End introduced us to their line of swimsuits, sharing their new technology – Shape and Enhance. Their line of swimwear is amazing with a style for any woman. We were able to be measured and have one on one consults on our style. Check HERE for more great info. on their line and tips on how to find your fit.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand is still fighting cancer one step at a time. With summer on the way it’s the perfect time for you to start a stand and help beat cancer, one cup at a time. Plus they have really good lemonade. If you aren’t ready to tackle your own stand, why not check out my friend Tricia’s daughter Lily’s Lemonade for Alex’s Lemonade Stand? Dear sweet Lily was diagnosed with a brain tumor as a toddler. Now, as a 6 year old survivor, she is trying to raise $10,000 this summer. How? One cup, one penny at a time. Find out how to help her reach her goal.
Send the Trend, part of QVC, had a table set up with fun jewelry, scarves, and jackets. The stylist was great, showing me 12 ways to wear their gorgeous scarves. From French sophisticate to beach sarong, I can look gorgeous anywhere. They generously gave each guest a Charm Necklace and guest’s choice of a scarf or Susan Graver necklace. Wanting to dress up my jewelry box with summery looks I chose Susan Graver’s Braided Seed Bead Necklace in coral . With black and brown being my fall back colors this necklace will brighten even my darkest outfits up with a pop of color.
McDonalds was on hand to offer McDonalds Wraps – not your average snack wrap but full sized wraps. With a trip to Smokin’ Betty’s in my plans I did not have one but I heard they were good. I had a great chat with a McDonalds owner/operator. As a mom to 2 kids herself it was great to hear that she has the same concerns about food, health and sustainability that many of us mothers have. I loved hearing about the steps they are taking, listening to moms and how she is working to bring healthier and better options to the table.
Johnson Baby Care was also on hand with a table of crafty card making supplies. For each card made that day a $1 donation would be made to Save the Children. The we made are being given to new moms to encourage them as they start this new journey in life. We were told $500 was donated as a result of our card making. You can participate too. They are launching their digital card making campaign soon.
Also of note was a display of Neutrogena Suncare. With summer coming they provided us with samples of Beach Defense and Pure and Free. Their Pure and Free line is designed with sensitive skin in mind. I know Neutrogena Pure and Free is one of the first sunscreens I grab, since it definitely is easy on my incredibly sensitive skin.
Last of all was the Clean and Clear display. I was surprised to see the Clean and Clear liquid of the past has morphed into so much more. Clean and Clear offers face cleaning solutions for teens and adults. We were given full size bottles of Clean and Clear Advantage Daily Soothing Acne Scrub to take home with us. I tried it for two days and love the way it smells, feels, and washes. Only problem? I think I’m allergic to something in it. Now it’s perfect for my husband.
