Ever have one of those days that isn’t busy but drags on forever? Like, FOR.EV.ER. kind of forever? Where the kids aren’t bad but just kind of naggy? And nothing went wrong but nothing went great either? That’s my day. Well, except for the Bleu Scalloped Potatoes that are cooking and smell delish. But no, that isn’t what this is about.
This is about one of THOSE days and the thought I had when I was searching for a straw for my throw it together Hard Strawberry Lemonade. You see, I just wanted to grab my glass and sit down to relax but all I could find was a freaking kid straw. Not even a boring bland kid straw but this blue straw with white snowflakes. Pfft, it’s one of THOSE days and this non-virgin drink is just gonna have to deal. Apparently so are you, with this really grainy picture of my drink and straw.
Sorry honey, I wasn’t spending anymore time getting that picture in just the right light when THAT drink and THAT chair were waiting for me. However, I will be kind enough to share my easy recipe.
Hard Strawberry Lemonade
16 ounce glass, filled half full with crush ice
1 cup pureed strawberries – nothing added
As much limoncello as you want – a lady who works with my husband gave us some for Christmas and it is PERFECT in this drink.
Stir, add a “fancy” straw, and forget the macaroons. If you want a virgin strawberry lemonade just substitute the limoncello for some regular lemonade.
Now let me kick up my feet and put those kids to work. After all, I didn’t play with those LEGOS and I most certainly wasn’t DYIIIIING to watch LeapFrog for the millionth time, and that most definitely is NOT my artwork.
