Last Saturday I had the opportunity to learn more about the Lands’ End swimwear line at the fabulous Spring into Summer Mom Mixer 2013 event in Philadelphia. I have always heard great things about Lands’ End swimsuits. In fact, that is the number one recommendation I have gotten from my friends.
It was nice to get a peek at their 2013 summer lines and learn more about the technology behind the suits. It was also great to see they really take women’s thoughts to heart and use our feedback to make their suits better. In fact, they have a suit for pretty much any woman.
Two things really stood out to me in the presentation of their swimwear line. One thing that I always struggle with is finding the perfect fit. I know what styles work well for me but finding one that actually fits in an attractive beach ready look is difficult. Swimwear shopping ranks pretty low on my list because of this. However, Lands’ End has been working on a new technology called SlenderTex that doesn’t just slim, flatten and squish you in and up all over. It is put into the suit in targeted areas – the tummy, the sides, the rear – to shape, flatten, and smooth what needs the help without you feeling like a stuffed sausage.
The second but most important thing in my mind is that they have designed Mastectomy swimwear for women who have survived breast cancer. They paid special attention to the feel of the material, making it soft so there is no discomfort and designed them with prosthesis pockets.
My favorite style is the 4 piece bikini. With a bikini, cami, and skirt, you can mix and match to get the look that works for you. I am a huge fan of a tankini but love the thought of the extra support of a bikini under the cami top. Paranoid me doesn’t have to worry about losing my swimsuit top with double coverage.
The most important thing to do first is find your fit. Check out these great tips on how to find the size for you.
