I have a confession. It’s January 29th and my Christmas Tree is still up. And let me tell you, if those kids say one more time that we need to get the tree down before daddy comes home….
My clean laundry is over-running my house –
I took pictures but I changed my mind. It’s overwhelming. I will paint a word picture. Imagine a rocking chair with laundry draping over the back, sides, and stacked on the seat. Imagine 2 laundry baskets overflowing with a twisted mass of arms and legs, a cedar chest with stacks of clothes to sort, and one small load on the living-room chair where I am mid-fold. And forget the ironing. Those wrinkles will just have to collect a little longer. Or maybe they will go through a rinse cycle in the washer, then dryer, while I stand over it with a pile of hangers and pounce as soon as the buzzer dings. Yeah, maybe that’s a good idea…..
Paperwork is piling up. Where does it all come from??
The children’s rooms are a mess since I don’t have time to keep them focused and on track cleaning them up. No, I’m not showing you pictures. Yes, they are up there right now. There is more giggling than work happening in one room and more crying in the other.
The van is an awful mess. But that will change tomorrow. Just envision a wintery muddy mess, mixed with a few paper crafts and crumbs from pretzels and cookies. Speaking of which, is there a good car wash vacuum in West Chester, because the $3 car wash one STINKS!
Next week is the first of 4 weeks of 2 hours home school co-op lessons and let’s just say I am not ready. Not ready at all. I have Lesson one done, except the music project and Lesson 2 mostly planned……freak out?
I have managed to accomplish the requisite hours of school with my kids each day this week.
I have fed them 3 meals a day so far….
They have been clean and clothed in clean clothes.
And I will take a shower tonight…..
Or maybe I will take a bath and read a good book and pretend that all the things that aren’t done are actually complete.
Oh yeah, I still have to finish getting my husband’s birthday party ready. Apparently turning 31 is a big deal to my kids and we have to have a birthday party – a NY Giants themed birthday party. Off to print some artwork for them to decorate with. Then I need to buy balloons…31 balloons…..in red, blue and white….yeah, on second thought, maybe not.
At least I’m still smiling in this really awful picture and the blind behind me has been thoroughly dusted today. Priorities right there.
