How to Freeze Pizza Dough - Real: The Kitchen and BeyondIf you are wondering how to freeze pizza dough you have come to the right place, my friend. I am a huge fan of throwing, well, just about everything possible in the freezer if it is going to make my life easier. Freezing pizza dough and crust definitely does that and it is easy from start to finish.

If you are looking for a quick and easy meal, then your best bet is to have frozen pizza crust, rather than dough, since there is no waiting process. Today I will share with you how to freeze pizza dough and next week I will share how you can freeze pizza crust also.

You may be daunted by the thought of making your own pizza crust but once you start you will wonder why you waited so long. Homemade pizza crust has simple ingredients and you don’t need to wonder what is in it when you make it at home.

How to Freeze Pizza Dough

Products Needed:

  • 1 recipe pizza crust
  • Baking tray or flat plate that fits in your freezer
  • Flour
  • Oil
  • Freezer bags or containers

Directions:

  • After your dough has risen per your recipe, you will divide it into sections.
  • I divide mine into 2 for 2 pizzas, 6 for individual dinner pizzas, or 12 for mini pizzas.
  • Lightly oil your baking sheet/plate.
  • Shape your dough into rounds.
  • Lightly flour.
  • Place with space between each on on tray/plate.
  • Put in freezer until frozen.
  • Put into freezer bags or container.
  • Freeze.
  • Pull from freezer the night before use and refrigerate to thaw.
  • Place in lightly oiled bowl and cover lightly.
  • Let rise 1-2 hours in a warm place.
