There are those moments….
That moment where your husband asks what you WANT for dinner rather than if you have any ideas for dinner. I’d like a black and blue steak, loaded baked potato, wedge salad and chocolate cherry cheesecake, thankyouverymuch. Except I don’t have anything to make ANY of them.
That moment where you pull chocolate chip cookie dough out of the freezer and discover it’s pumpkin cinnamon rolls. Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls rock it but they won’t be ready for HOURS. There’s thawing, rising, and baking that needs to happen. Not to mention NO CHOCOLATE. No thanks.
That moment where you resign yourself to boring old chicken drumsticks, pull them out of the fridge and realize you bought them a week ago and that’s WAY TOO LONG for them to sit in the refrigerator. Yeah, THAT moment.
That moment when you pull out the mixer and make yourself a batch of chocolate chip cookies and oops, read the recipe wrong, or maybe not so wrong, and dumped 1 and 1/2 BAGS of chocolate chips in the dough instead of 1 and 1/2 cups. Seriously, what recipe calls for 1 and 1/2 cups? Chocolate haters.
That moment where you pull out the small cast iron skillet…not the tiny but the small, and make an ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie all for YOU and realize you do indeed have milk. YES! That glorious moment. Forget Calgon. Chocolate take me away.
Oh yes, and then there’s that moment when your husband walks in the door after mysteriously disappearing and walks back in with steak, sour cream, blue cheese dressing, lettuce, pulls out a few potatoes, and makes you that steak dinner with loaded baked potatoes and an even better than a wedge salad all for under $11. Yes! At THIS moment he’s making me a crave worthy dinner, although I kinda like the man making it even more than the meal he’s making.
