I have a bread machine and I still haven’t gotten the hang of it. I follow the recipe exactly. I didn’t at first since I didn’t have powdered milk and that stuff is expensive but I found a good deal and bought it.
If anything, it turned out worse. ONE TIME – one time I got a good loaf of bread. The rest of the time it rises and then deflates to about half the size. I just don’t get it. The bread tastes good but I am getting loaves that give us each two slices of bread and that’s it. Thin, normal slices of bread, not the nice thick slice of homemade bread you are drooling over right now.
What am I doing wrong? If anyone has suggestions I am open. Until then, I guess I am just going to have to use the bread machine for special occasion meals. The kind of meals that don’t need a loaf of bread to last us for sandwiches or anything.
For now we just won’t eat bread unless I have time in my schedule (haha) to make it the “old fashioned” way. Which means pretty much never since there aren’t enough hours in my day already.
