Big Bang Boom is a North Carolina rock band for kids that’s parent friendly. With CDs named “Because I Said So!”, and another, “Songs Your Mom Will Like”, that’s pretty apparent, right? Chuck Folds, Eddie Walker, and Steve Williard have been long time musicians who decided to start up a kids’ music band, Big Band Boom Band, in 2007. Their goal? Create current music that is kid AND parent approved. Mission complete. Kids and parents all approve in this household.
My boys were sold before they even heard the music simply because any one who has a picture of mini-figures on their website has to be cool. My daughter was sold because she has some new dance music. Big Bang Boom Band writes pop music using a mix of genres, from alternative to country, making it the perfect mix for our eclectic tastes. I am sold on the fact they make fun songs that reinforce good behavior and things that moms and dads tell their kids. You know, like “Because I Said So“.
You can check out some of their newest music on the Big Bang Boom website. They have several of their newest songs available for preview and all of their CDs are available for sale on the same page, bottom right. My favorite is “One”. It’s such a thoughtful song about looking outside yourself and finding someone who is need that you can help. Even better, if you are local and looking for something to do with the kids next weekend, they are playing at World Cafe Live at the Queen on January 18th. After listening to their CDs it is sure to be a great time. You can get your tickets here.
