I’m an avid consignment sale/thrift store shopper. I love cute clothes and I love a good deal even more. That being said, it’s pretty awesome when I can find a truly brand new not “new to me” store that sells super cute clothes for a super great price. There is one perfect little shop in West Chester, PA – Artifact. Artifact sells everything under $60. Gorgeous dresses, shirts, jeans, shoes, and accessories can all be found in this one sweet shop.
Lauren Merkel hand picks the items she wants to carry and sells a limited selection of each item. This way you get to buy something you don’t see every one else wearing. Several local bloggers were asked to do a fashion shoot for Artifact and I, happily, was one of them. After all, how could I say no to a cute outfit? We all had an opportunity for an after hours wine and cheese shopping event where we explored what Artifact had to offer and got an idea of what we wanted to wear. There were quite a few options I liked but when it came down to it I could not resist this perfectly romantic and cute little number. One of my favorite things about this dress is the gorgeous collar. Don’t worry mom. I don’t plan to climb any trees in THIS dress.
Our photo shoot fell on August 4, my husband and I’s 12th anniversary so I definitely had a super special date night in mind. I wanted something different, something flirty and fun. I decided to take it outside the box and not get something I traditionally wear. Boy did I go outside the box – I rarely wear anything with green in it, I never wear “short”, and I most definitely don’t do lace. Check, check, check – We have a winner with the Flying Tomato seafoam/aqua lace dress. My husband completely agrees.
For a summery look I paired the dress with gold jewelry and nude peep toe heels that I purchased at another local thrift shop. Another thing I just don’t do – wear gold. As you can see though, it was the perfect tone for this outfit. For a fall look I am envisioning a pair of worn in brown cowgirl boots paired with a jacket of some sort. That part of the outfit hasn’t come to me yet. For winter fashion I plan to add a black jacket and black heels or boots.
